MEDical UnivErsities Alliance (MEDEA) is an Erasmus Mundus Action 2 project financed by the EACEA from July 2013 to July 2017. It involves 10 European Universities and 10 Lot 5 Universities (Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Moldavia, Belarussia) in the field of Health studies. It aims to provide support for higher education institutions cooperation with other relevant stakeholders and will improve the pedagogical and methodological capacities of the university staff. MEDEA is a new partnership answering the needs and obstacles for medical undergraduate and postgraduate students to access former Erasmus Mundus projects for lot 5. The MEDEA Consortium demonstrates thematic partnership, with relevance of medical studies to the student body within the partnerships and in the countries covered by the partnership, as well as the capacities and networks that it will strengthen in the universities/university hospitals involved, both in the Eastern Partnership countries and in the EU.

The overall project will finance 208 mobility exchanges at all level of studies (undergraduates, Master, Doctorates, Post-doctorates) and staff (academic and administrative): 53 from EU to Third countries and 155 from TC to EU. The project promotes studies from one semester or one year to a full degree for Masters and Doctorates. Post-doctorates will integrate a research team for 10 months in a laboratory to work on research proposals. Finally, administrative and professors will have the possibility to benefit from a one month exchange in a foreign university in order to develop the cooperation, the curricula, the knowledge and research.

MEDEA project covers the travel costs, the monthly subsistence, travel and health insurance to the applicants.

Online applications will be accessible in MEDEA website among 3 cohorts in autumn 2013, 2014 and 2015.
